Y : la naissance d’un nouveau rameau qui grandira à partir du corps de sa branche parente donne cette forme caractéristique, répétée autant qu’il y a de branches. Y, ou la ramification. De Y en Y : la plante - la racine, le fleuve - croît, parcourt.
Figure, forme archétypale qui se transmet. De la trace au symbole, la forme de ce lien entre deux branches peut faire penser à un alphabet primitif. La lettre phénicienne d’où vient notre Y signifiait hameçon, ou crochet.
Y prêt à pousser, ramifier, s’étendre. Y fragment, mesure, intervalle.
L’étymologie nous ramène à la branche : du lat. intervallum, de inter, entre, et vallus, pieu - proprement l’espace entre deux palissades.
Branche compagne de mesure, de distance, scande nos pas, par intervalles.
